Goa act Meller has a track featured in the preview for “Cyborgs: Rise of the Slingers”, an upcoming science fiction film, directed by Albert Pyun which is a sequel to the original “Cyborg” from 1989 starring Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Don’t expect grand cinema as Albert Pyun is best known for having made many low-budget B-movies and direct-to-video action films. He frequently blends kickboxing and hybrid martial arts with science fiction and dystopic or post-apocalyptic themes, which often include cyborgs.
You can watch the preview after the jump. Mind you, what you’re seeing are actually developmental / camera tests for the project (hence why you also get an extra post production of part of the trailer in the second video). This particular reel was shot with a Red One Scarlett camera and features Las Vegas actress Paige Lauren Billiot in footage produced at Levy Productions in Vegas. Michael Su will serve as the picture’s Director of Photography, with Olwen Zarlengo designing costumes. Other credits include Amanda Martinez (Make Up), Daniel Ray Gutierrez (Editor), Visual Effects from Artiflex, Production Design by Heather Caliguire, and a score from frequent Pyun collaborator Tony Riparetti.
Let’s see what the final product will be like. The original was already pretty camp to say the least.
